Quick Find is on the Edit menu and is also available from the bullet chart Control Panel. Quick Find is a simplified version of Search. It searches once for a specified text pattern. While the Quick Find dialog does not contain the settings of the Search dialog, Quick Find still searches for words according to the current settings on the Search window, except for Mark Changes. The Quick Find dialog box has the following options:
Search For Type in the desired text pattern. Wild card characters are valid. However, Match Pattern must have been previously turned on in the Search window to use wild card characters. MORE inserts the text you type after Find Next on the Edit menu. MORE also replaces the Search For text in the Search window with text specified in the Quick Find dialog.
Find Finds the specified text.
Even though Quick Find locates only the first occurrence of the specified text, you still can locate the next occurrence quickly with Find Next. Pressing cmd-F locates text patterns specified through Search or Quick Find.
CAUTION: When you quit MORE, settings in the Search window are saved for the next work session. It’s a good idea to review these settings before doing searches with Search or Quick Find.
